The Synopsis of The Samaritan
The play, The Samaritan, narrates the tale of Alvita and Montano, two students of Sagrada Secondary School in Maracas Municipality, who innovate a mobile App that they name The Samaritan. The mobile App initially developed as a simple school project for secondary schools' competition, overgrows this elementary cause and becomes an online rostrum for informing, besides sharing ideas and information with the rationale of improving governance and enriching public interest. Within a short period of its operation, the mobile App is overwhelmed with fateful information about peerless corruption, misconduct, and political ensnare perpetrated by the Maracas Municipal Council leaders.
With these damning disclosures in The Samaritan, the Municipal Council leaders do everything they can think of to halt the operation of the App, including bribing the most active subscribers and newspaper reporters and editors; hacking the App. and even intimidating the Innovation Teacher, Nicole, into halting the launch and the activities of the App. However, their efforts prove futile. Eventually, the national government steps in and justice catches up with them. A Fresh Morn for Maracas Municipality is ushered in with the arrest of the Municipal Council leaders -the masters of regression.
